About Us

Hand Limit is a collaborative blog to cover the world of table-top gaming and the frankly ridiculous amount of joy it brings. Through sharing our experiences, reviews, news, and opinions, we hope to widen the participation in the hobby, provide support to newcomers, and promote conversation with experienced gamers.

It is our belief that table-top gaming is an often overlooked aspect to arts and culture that has a unique place in combating loneliness, aiding positive mental health, and promoting community and support networks.

Hand Limit is opposed to gatekeeping in the hobby and while we may express opinions on games that may differ to your own (we're looking at you, Monopoly) we do not wish to prohibit anyone's joy. If no one is hurting, and you're all having fun, then you are playing games right.

Hand Limit is an inclusive space and bigotry and intolerance is not permissible.

Meet the Writers:

Skullen Boots (They/Him)

Skullen has been playing table-top games as a hobby since 2019, starting with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, then moving into other TTRPGs and board games more widely. They have a particular love of solo-RPGs and solo-board gaming and will talk for hours about the joy that gaming can bring (will also talk for hours about pirates but then they have to put money in the jar).

They just do not understand Trading Card Games and has a particular dislike of any game they might consider "pay to win".

Abitha Eliza (She/They)

Pre 2020s, Abitha was what they refer to as a “social gamer”, dabbling in games like Munchkin and Fluxx at parties. In 2020, Abitha started getting into tabletop games more seriously.

Abitha likes PVP games with cheerful, lighthearted and cottagecore themes; Kingdomino, Patchwork, Funghi and Kinoko being particular favourites, but also loves multi-objective co-op games like Horrified. Under no circumstances should you suggest a game of Star Realms to them, or wrap your burrito or fajita in a non-approved way.
